Susan Fagan Moran joined Amethyst Center in February of 2005. She practices Jin Shin Jyutsu (jin shin jit' su), a healing art that releases blocked energy in the body.

Susan got started with Jin Shin Jyutsu almost 10 years ago. She'd been feeling down and dragged out. A friend suggested she try Jin Shin Jyutsu. Susan was skeptical, but she made an appointment, signing up for three sessions, as recommended by the practitioner.

After each session, she did indeed feel better. But after the third session, she experienced a profound change, like she "had come out from under water, for the first time in years." She said, "my breathing was deeper, and I experienced a wave of elation, and the thought came to me that it felt good to be alive."

She went back for more. Inspired, she then began to take classes to learn how to be a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner herself. Susan now practices in the Boston area, and is certified to teach self-help classes, for those who want to learn how to practice Jin Shin Jyutsu on themselves.

How does Jin Shin Jyutsu work?
Jin Shin Jyutsu "works" by unblocking stuck energy.

How does energy get stuck?
Any type of trauma or stress can constrict or block energy in your body. This blocked energy can manifest as dis-ease of body, mind or spirit.

What is a Jin Shin Jyutsu session like?
A session typically lasts for one hour. Most people find the session deeply relaxing. Some experience a profound release during their session. For others, the change is more subtle. But whether you "feel something" or not, the JSJ is still working, "unsticking the stucks" in your body-mind.

Susan on Jin Shin Jyutsu
We all look for effective ways to cope with the stresses in our lives. I encourage you to try different healing modalities, and see what works best for you. For me, Jin Shin Jyutsu continues to be a very important part of my own healing. I invite you to try it.

It's the most relaxing hour you'll spend this week.
